Behringer X-Touch One Windows Setup and Preset Switching
Configure device connection, preset switching, fader feedback, and LCD labels.
X-Touch One MIDI or Mackie Mode Quick Setup
- Hold the STOP button and press the rotary knob.
- Use the rotary knob to select MIDI or MC Std.
- Press the rotary knob multiple times until the LCD screen has no text.
Tip: In Mackie/MCU mode, the X-Touch One uses built-in channel strips (CH1-CH8). Channel-select buttons are reserved for strip switching, and Mute/Solo/Rec are strip-linked, so they can be mapped per selected channel within the same preset. In practice, this means the fader plus Mute/Solo/Rec can each be mapped across 8 channel slots in one preset by switching channels on the controller. The Master button is also reserved in MCU mode (not mappable as a normal action button), but it switches the fader to the master channel. In MIDI mode, these buttons can be mapped normally and do not change controller channels. Choose Native or MCU based on how you want to use the controller, and make sure the hardware mode matches the app mode (Native = standard MIDI mode, MCU = MCU standard).
Windows Setup Steps
- Add your X-Touch One in MIDI Command Studio.
- Enable LED feedback, motorized fader feedback, and LCD preset feedback for the device in the Settings window.
- Create one or more presets for your workflows.
- Set up preset switching in Settings/Preset Switching so you can change workflows without the mouse.
This setup allows the X-Touch One to switch between different mappings and volume controls for different Windows applications without leaving the controller. For example, you could have a DaVinci Resolve setup, then switch to an Adobe Photoshop setup, then an OBS or browser setup.
Volume Workflow
For multi-target volume control, map the fader to different targets in different presets, then switch presets from the controller.
